Tascam 1641 adalah sebuah converter 14 input yang sudah dilengkapi dengan 8 buah pre amp. Tidak perlu mengeluarkan uang extra untuk membeli Pre Amp tambahan atau expansi ADAT, juga tidak perlu khawatir akan kekurangan input nanti nya. Dengan harga yang terjangkau, kualitas suara yang dihasilkan nya sangat professional dan dapat bersaing dibandingkan dengan kualitas rekaman converter lain dengan harga yang jauh diatas nya.
Input 1 - 8 adalah microphone input dimana bisa dipakai untuk mencolokkan 8 buah microphone secara sekaligus. Dilengkapi dengan phantom power.
Input 9 dan 10 adalah colokan yang bisa berfungsi sebagai instrument input maupun line input. Ketika ingin mencolokkan gitar atau bass secara direct, maka pengguna tinggal memijit tombol yang ada di sebelahnya. Maka input 9 atau 10 siap menerima instrument level input.
ersedia 10 buah tombol untuk mengatur gain dari channel 1 s/d 10. Di sebelah kanan nya adalah level untuk monitor output ke speaker. Monitoring dilakukan secara hardware sehingga sama sekali bebas dari masalah latency. Tersedia tombol mix untuk mengatur proporsi antara signal input dan signal dari computer.
Misalnya kita sedang rekaman vocal, apabila kita ingin vocal lebih kencang maka tinggal atur mix ke kiri ( input ). Apabila kita inginkan musik yg lebih kencang maka kita atur mix agak ke kanan ( computer ). Juga tersedia independent knob untuk headphone out.
Line input 11 - 14 berada di belakang yang mana adalah line input dimana pengguna bisa memakainya sebagai input untuk keyboard, efek gitar, dsb nya. Line input level bisa dipilih antara -10 consumer atau +4 professional format.
Channel 15-16 adalah digital input dengan S/PDIF format. Bisa digunakan untuk merekam signal digital apabila kita memiliki keyboard, efek, atau pre amp yang memiliki s/pdif out.

Focusrite Saffire Pro 24

Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 adalah converter 4 input yang ditujukan untuk home recording. Converter ini memiliki keunggulan yaitu sudah memakai chipset yang memiliki fitur anti jitter, dan dynamic range yang cukup lebar untuk menghasilkan hasil yang professional.
Input satu dan dua adalah neutrik combo yang mana bagian pinggir nya adalah XLR input untuk koneksi ke microphone. Bagian tengah nya adalah jack input yang mana :
- Bisa menerima line level signal misalnya dari keyboard out
- Atau menerima instrument level signal untuk penggunaan direct bass atau gitar
Apabila pengguna memilih instrument level, maka lampu indikator akan menyala ( lihat di bawah tomboh gain 1 dan 2 ). Di bawah kedua tombol gain adalah sebuah switch yang akan menyalakan phantom power apabila pengguna ingin menggunakan condenser mic.
Input tiga dan empat berada di belakang berupa line input. Converter ini juga memiliki ADAT input sehingga memungkinkan nya untuk di expand menjadi 12 input dengan menambahkan pre amp dengan koneksi ADAT / Optical.
Keunggulan lain dari Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 adalah converter ini sudah disertai Mixer DSP. Seperti bisa kita lihat, bagian atas adalah beberapa fader layaknya mixer analog yang akan biasa kita gunakan untuk mengatur level. Baik input pada converter maupun input melalui ADAT / Opctical in dengan mudahnya akan kita atur level nya melalui DSP Mixer tersebut.
Keunggulan dari DSP Mixer adalah, apa yg kita atur disini tidak akan mempengaruhi signal yang direkam di DAW kita ( misalnya cubase / sonar ). Jadi saat rekaman, kita mengatur signal level kita melalui tombol gain. Setelah itu barulah mengatur volume yg ingin kita dengar menggunakan mixer DSP ini.
